Couldn't load pickup availability
Two-year-old seedlings (4-5 leaves) came from self pollinated seeds obtained from the pictured mother plant. The price is for one seedling only. Please note that plants growing from seeds may have surprising colors. Plants will be shipped bareroot, wrapped to keep moisture.
I do not have the bloom picture; the picture in the listing is for reference only. Seeds are obtained from a CA clivia breeder.
This easy to care, beautiful clivia can be a great gift for family and friends, and yourself. It is elegant but also tough, drought tolerant, and can grow in any type of well-drained soil. As a house plant, it's easier to grow than an orchid; it is shade tolerant--early morning or afternoon sun is enough. Even when not in flower, the leafy clumps are an attractive pot of pleasing green.
Clivia plants can go for several weeks without water; in fact, they need a dry, cold period to initiate flowering. It can be left undisturbed for many years. You can grow them beautifully for 4-5 years without ever disturbing the roots by repotting.
Potting and Care Instructions
Use a potting mix that drains well and that is composed of at least 50% organic matter, such as peat moss or fir bark. Most potting mixes sold at garden centers meet both requirements.
They require moderate light such as an eastern exposure (morning sun) or bright, indirect light. Too much direct sun can burn the leaves. Clivia can also be summered outdoors in a shady location. Water regularly when the plant requires it during the growing season, but do not over-water; clivias prefer to be kept on the dry side. If grown outside, make sure to provide protection from midday and afternoon sun.
Note: Although I did my best to pack the plant, I cannot guarantee the safe delivery of the plant once it is out of my hand. Please make sure to track the delivery and receive the plant on time. Once delivered, it is the customer's responsibility to help them thrive. If the plant arrives damaged, please immediately contact me and send me pictures to show the damage, so that we may work out a way for you.
Thank you.
